Procedure

You can easily obtain your fishing permits in any state tourism office, conveniently located within the state. Tijuana, Playas de Rosarito, Ensenada, San Quintín and San Felipe.

  1. You need a valid photo id.
  2. You can purchase these permits individually or in a group directly at the premises, you will be issued an official receipt and corresponding permits.

Office hours

  1. From 8:00 a.m. To 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
  2. From 9:00 a.m. To 1:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

U.S. Customs Regulations

Sport fishermen may bring fish to the United States for personal consumption only. U.S.. Customs require the catch fish to be accompanied by a California declaration entry form, obtainable at California Fish and game offices and at the U.S. border ports of entry. (note that different regulations may apply if you live in a state other than California; for information regarding your state's regulations, contact your local department of fish and game or your local U.S. Customs office) the number of fish must not exceed the Mexican bag limit. Fish transported across the border can be eviscerated but must be identifiable; usually the head, tail, or patch of skin left intact will suffice.

Anyone bringing fish into the United States will be asked by customs officials to present a valid Mexican fishing license or a Mexico Department of Fisheries form covering the purchase of the fish. For more U.S. information:
